Full Report

Jensen Race Team's first single seater race weekend took place at the final round of the HSCC Historic Formula Ford championship on 11th and 12th October 2025. This was Jacques debut race weekend in HFF, and it was always going to be tough, with a full grid of 32 cars competing at the Silverstone National circuit.

Action kicked off with qualifying on Saturday, where Jacques managed a fastest lap of 1:04.752, enough to secure a top 10 starting position for race 1. Race day came on Sunday, with overcast but dry conditions throughout.

Race 1- From 9th place on the grid, no time was wasted in getting stuck in with the regular championship front runners. What followed was an action packed race full of slip streaming and lots of overtaking, with Jacques taking an impressive eighth place at the chequered flag. This was a very promising result considering his lack of track time and the level of competition.

Race 2- Jacques got off the line well from 8th place on the grid, making up a position into turn 2. The next few laps involved an intense battle with Will Nuthall, Oliver Chapman, Ben Powney and Robert Wainwright, with constant position changes and wheel to wheel racing. Unfortunately, on lap 6 Jacques' car jumped out of gear onto the back straight, the subsequent loss of momentum allowing 6 cars to pass.

Whilst recovering from this set back, things went from bad to worse. Rob Wainwright spun through Copse corner, Jacques being forced to take avoiding action, spinning off the track himself. Luckily no contact was made, and after a very fiery engine restart, Jacques was back on track. The race was rather uneventful from here, and somehow Jacques managed to cross the finish line in 15th place.

After the race, Jacques said, "I've got to be happy with the results from this weekend. We were mixing it with some very experienced and quick guys right from the start, and that bodes well for next season's championship. The car will now get pampered through the winter, and we will be on the grid for round 1 at Snetterton next April!"
